Assign a sales organisation and distribution channel to a plant
Sales transactions will eventually lead to logistical transactions. Therefore it is important to provide the link between the sales and logistics enterprise structure. Within SAP ECC you have to define from which plant you supply specific distribution channels that have been assigned to specific sales organisations.
Especially complex company structures will benefit from this assignment. For example you can imagine that materials for the professional market that require specialised storage conditions may only be shipped directly from the manufacturing site.
Use the following path in the implementation guide: IMG >> Enterprise Structure >> Assignment >> Sales and Distribution >> Assign Sales Organisation – Distribution Channel – Plant.
When accessing the configuration transaction, the existing assignments between sales organisations, distribution channels and plants are shown.
Select the menu path Edit >> New Entries to create a new assignment between a sales organisation, distribution channel and plant.
Define the unique combinations of sales organisations, distribution channels and plants for your prototype systems.
Press the ENTER key to allow the system to validate your data.
Press the SAVE button to save the data in a transport request.
You can now exit the configuration transaction.
