Unique ability

Isard joined an entrepreneurial coaching program called “The Strategic Coach”. One assignment was to ask for feedback from business partners regarding Isard’s ‘unique ability’.

Here are the results:

“I would say you have a number of personal attributes that combine to make a unique ability. They include (in no particular order) the following:
Personable
– of course there are lots of personable people out there, but you have a unique way of disarming people by poking fun at yourself. Your Dutch accent adds to this aspect your unique (and sometimes eccentric) character. This personable character makes you… Approachable.
Another way that makes you more personable than most (and I will come on to this again later) is your unrivalled levels of…
….Enthusiasm –  As we know – enthusiasm is infectious and you use it to draw people to you.
Attention to detail
– you combine being organised with being thorough.
Honest
- It’s clear from having worked with you that you have integrity and are honest. That makes you…
Reliable
- as you action what you say you’re going to do.
Open-minded
– goes hand in hand with one of the over-riding values that strikes me about you. It’s a rare gift, but you are one who is able to see the…
Big Picture
– it’s all very well having ideas (and we know you have a lot of those), but seeing them in context is key. When you combine that with your…
Innovation
- you really start getting close to your ‘Unique Ability‘… I’d say it’s around being innovative enough to be able to see the ‘big picture’; having the attention to detail and being organised enough to create a strategy to make it happen; whilst having the open-mindedness you need to adapt and develop your ideas.
Finally, what you have to make this happen – considerably more than most people – is: Creative Energy. Does your battery ever run down? I haven’t seen that yet.”

“From the work that I have been involved in with you  your unique ability would be your ability to take an issue which you have some understanding about and extrapolate this to fully understand the exact nature of the issue even if this out of your current expertise.  In doing so you frequently research and strive to fully understand your customers requirements in order to provide a solution.  I think this characteristic of being proactive to fully research an issue and really having a thirst for knowledge is one of the things I admire.”

“I think your unique ability is to be able to identify and very clearly articulate highly technical issues and to be able to present them in a format and manner that provides an easy to digest and well structured overview of the issue at hand.”

“What I like about you is that you are continuously “dissatisfied with the status quo” and, perhaps more importantly, are will to do something to change that. This is a great attribute which not many people possess. It is easy to whinge about things, but actually doing something to remediate the situation is often more difficult.
Something else that I value in you is your ability to be enthusiastic about things. Perhaps this stems from your outside interests, but you are very willing to try new things.

“You are able to bring more detail oriented view on the system design and improved the quality of the solution, documentation and testing. Your contribution did save us from embarrassment on a number of occasions.”

“First and foremost your unique ability is your creativity. I think that creativity consists of two main parts: Imagination and the ability/will/guts to create. You have both.
A strong second is the ability to strongly believe in yourself and to believe in others.
Third, the ability to motivate yourself and others to the extreme.”

“I’d say your Unique Ability is the drive to create something big out of a small detail other people would not notice or bother with. You are the sort of man who actively looks for insignificant molehills to make into towering mountains, in a good way!”
